Hi Nicki

I qualified (wish there was no need!) and was advised to go onto anti-tnf's in July last year. I was given a choice of which one, after being given literature to take away and read. I chose infliximab, as I didn't really want to be doing injections at home and also preferred once every 8 weeks as opposed to either every week or fortnight. I also will avoid the need for worrying about transporting the drug when going away - I see others on the forum are concerned about taking their drugs and keeping it cold enough, whilst travelling.
At present it is suiting me, and has made a great difference to my aches and pains.BigGrin
Good luck with what ever you choose. You will have back up from the hospital/your GP and will always have this forum for extra support.

Love
Beth

Hi Nicki,

Welcome to the forum.
I have had RA for 9 years and am on mtx and humira, which I find helps me a lot and the injections are easy to do, and only once a fortnight.

Love, Doreen xx

Hi Nicki,

A very warm welcome to the forum.

I`ve been on humira for almost 3 years now, and it`s made a considerable difference to my mobility. I didn`t actually have a choice of what to take - my consultant chose humira. I haven`t had any side effects - touch wood - and the injection only stings momentarily.

Take care,

Kathleen x

Hello Everyone! And thanks for the warm welcome! It is really nice to have support from people who really understand how this illness affects you, as unless you suffer from it then it's impossible to know! I look forward to making my way through the threads in the hope I can help others too! Nicki x

Hi Nicki,

Welcome to the forum, I'm Barbara aged 50, married with gown up daughter living at home, and was diagnosed with RA last year. Not doing too well with the meds, but hanging on in there in hope of the magical drug turning up, and one that my body can tolerate.

There's lots of support and invaluable advice here on the forum, and I look forward to chatting with you,

love,

Barbara

Nicki

Welcome to the forum. You will find lots of support on here. Someone will always answer a question. I have just started on anti-tnf's but had a false start as had a reaction to Enbrel. I have been taken off it for the time being whilst I have other health issues sorted out but they are going to switch me over to another to try. I have not been put off and really want to find a release from the pain and never-ending tiredness.

Take care

Jackie
